About the summit

Organized by Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics (CSAA), China Aerospace Propulsion Technology Summit 2015 will be held in Changsha City, Hunan Province, China.

In the next 20 years, China will boast 10,000 aircraft engines demand so that the total value is up to about $ 98 billion. At the very time of the engine industry restructuring, China has approved aero engine to be the Major Science and Technology Program, which means there will be $300 billion government investment in aero engine industry in the next two decades. A new generation of Civil Turboprop Engine will be developed by AVIC and Safran, which becomes the first Turboprop Engine project in China. Meanwhile, the Sino-Russia wide-body aircraft project is in the process of international bidding. Further, more helicopters will be needed for operations in plateau area in China which will need a new generation technology engine.

Nature: Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics (CSAA) is a legally-registered academic, non-profit national legal entity based on voluntary membership of scientists and engineers in the field of aeronautics and astronautics.

Objectives:

-to unite scientists and engineers in aeronautics and astronautics in an effort to promote the development and dissemination of aeronautic and astronautic science and technology;

-to promote the nurturance of talents in this field and the integration of aeronautic and astronautic science and technology with economy;

to serve our members and other professionals working in scientific and technological fields;

-to make contribution to the construction of an innovation-oriented country and harmonious society and to strive for the resurrection of China,

The above objectives shall be fulfilled through creating an open activity platform and environment favorable for the development of scientific talents and innovation under the guidance of scientific outlook of development.

Activities:

hold a diversity of academic conferences, symposia, forums, salons and public lectures, creating exchange opportunities for our members and aviation S&T professionals

sponsor scientific periodicals, edit and publish conference proceedings, scientific books and deliver audio-visual products, disseminate information of aviation science and technology

organize various activities including exhibitions, knowledge contests, model competition, flying shows and summer vocation camps to popularize aeronautical knowledge among young people

launch training programs and deliver lectures to help CSAA’s members and scientific professionals update their knowledge and improve their innovation ability

conduct both international and domestic academic non-governmental exchanges and establish friendly contacts with aviation associations and experts of other countries

join international academic associations of aviation on behalf of China’s aeronautical community (CSAA is now an official member of the International Council of the Aeronautical Sciences)

Commend and reward excellent S&T research achievements, significant academic writings, fruits of science dissemination and outstanding S&T professionals

evaluate S&T projects and qualifications of professional technique upon commission

compile and examine the science documents and standards

provide policy argument and recommendation as well as consulting service on major scientific and technological projects of national economic development
