The 35th Asian Racing Conference 2014 (ARC 2014) is going to be staged from May 5-8, 2014 at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) by the Asian Racing Federation (ARF) and the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC).

Asian Racing Conference (ARC) is an extremely important global conference for the global sport which provides the chance for racing industry and to display their services and products to officials from all over the world.

With 53-year-old history, Asian Racing Conference (ARC) is often held about every two years, which attracts more than 800 delegate numbers from over 30 countries, including Europe, South America and North America.

The Asian Racing Federation (ARF) is the peak regional body for thoroughbred racing in Asia, Australasia, Arabia and South Africa. Currently the Asian Racing Federation (ARF) has 20 Full Members and 1 Associate Member. Racing-related bodies from Indonesia, Kuwait and Turkmenistan are Affiliate Members of the Federation. The ARCs are staged by members of the Asian Racing Federation (ARF).

The ARF’s activities include:

1.Promoting and facilitating the internationalisation of racing
2.Quality control of ‘black type’, which the ARF carries out through its Asian Pattern Committee
3.Harmonization of the rules of racing and of drug control across its members throughout the region
4.Assisting the development of racing throughout the ARF footprint

The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) is a company limited by guarantee with no shareholders and obtains its net earnings from racing and betting. The money remaining after payment of dividends, prize money, taxes, operating costs and investments to enhance Hong Kong's racing and betting facilities is donated to charitable and community projects.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) Charities Trust serves as the vehicle through which all of the Club's charitable donations are distributed and administered.
Racing, football betting and the Mark Six lottery are operated as separate entities. The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) also provides a wide range of exclusive leisure facilities for its Members. These fall under a separate company, financed entirely by Members' subscriptions and fees.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) is directed by a 12-strong Board of Stewards, headed by a Chairman, who provide their services gratis. Day to day management is conducted by a Board of Management of nine Executive Directors and two Directors, headed by the Club's Chief Executive Officer.
