2011 Taipei International Travel Fair (2011 ITF Taipei)

EVENT'S PROFILE:

?2011 Taipei International Travel Fair Welcomes You

In recent years, Taiwan’s tourism industry has received abundant attention and support from the public and private sectors. As a result, Taiwan tourism has broken new records in the inbound and outbound markets. In 2010, Taiwan welcomed 5,567,277 international arrivals, a growth of 26.27% from 2009. With Taiwan celebrating its centennial year in 2011, the industry is confident that it will continue to scale new heights. Taiwan’s outbound market has also had a booming year; outbound departures reached 9,415,074, a 15.62% growth compared to 2009. Taking into consideration Taiwan’s total population of 23.16 million, the average percentage of outbound travelers is 40.67%, a comparably high amount. With a large number of outbound travelers and high consumer expenditure, Taiwan has naturally become an ideal market for countries to market their tourist destinations.
The Taipei International Travel Fair is directed by the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, guided by the Taiwan Tourism Bureau and organized by the Taiwan Visitors Association. It is the longest standing international-scale travel fair to be seen in Taiwan. The event organizer, the Taiwan Visitors Association (TVA), was founded in 1956 and is the oldest non-profit tourism organization in Taiwan.
In its 55 years, TVA has collaborated with government and the private sector in creating the most effective and successful annual business platform for the tourism industry. Every year, ITF continues to play its crucial role as the ideal event for global tourism organizations to come together and share the latest industry news, trends and innovative products.
