Name: Oil & Fat Sub-council of Chinese Cereals and Oils Association (OFS)

Found in 1985, attaching to Chinese Cereals and Oils Association(CCOA), Oil & Fat Sub-council of Chinese Cereals and Oils Association (OFS) has been selectively choosing members from oil and fat industry. There are 140 members after another rectification in 2003. The council of OFS is elected by the member congress every four years. Its branched consist of organizing committee, technical advisory committee, academic exchange committee, knowledge popularization committee, editing and publishing committee, and an professional group of 39 experts. The office of OFS is in charge of routine work.
　　OFS’s aiming to:
　　Pursue economic development as the center, and insist on “science and technology is the first productivity”
　　Support the technical innovation of oil and fat industry; support the technical cooperation among technical personals, scholars and enterprises.

Since establishment, OFS has received great support from leaders and members, and its annual academic conference has a certain influence and visibility. In the future, we will advance with times, and continue to offer quality service. First, inform the trend and questions of the industry to serve government making decision and planning. Found in 1945 and was merged into Physiological Sciences Society in 1950, Chinese Nutrition Society (CNS) was resumed in 1981 under the approval of the China Association for Science and Technology. Attaching to Ministry of Health, it is under business guidance and supervision of China Association for Science and Technology and the Societies Registration Management Unit—Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People's Republic of China.

Chinese Nutrition Society (CNS) has joined International Union of Nutritional Sciences (IUNS) and Federation of Asian Nutrition Societies (FANS), with its over 12,000 members scattering nationwide in scientific research, education, disease prevention, medical care, food, agriculture and other sectors. In order to improve domestic and international academic exchange and cooperation, CNS published academic works, held conferences and symposiums. They also offer further education and technical training in the nutrition field to better the members’ and related personnels’ professional skills. What’s more, activities are held, spreading nutrition knowledge to guide people to have a balanced diet and a good health condition.

According to dietary characteristics of the Chinese people, the experts of Chinese Nutrition Society (CNS) proposed Chinese People’s Diet Guidelines & Balancing Diet Pagoda, which was put publicity after a revision in 2007. Another work, Nutrition Science Series of Books help people have a better understanding of nutrition with its scientific and simple words. The association also holds nutrition lectures, open expert hotline, and cooperate with newspaper, magazine & radio to set column, and other more publicity methods to spread nutrition science knowledge. They opened their official website to introduce the academic activity overview, work news, popular science, which is an important way to obtain nutrition knowledge for both professionals and common people.
